The heat is on again

After a morning of "luke warm" sauna which doesn't do much for the body other than keeping it cold :) we got it back in "roasting mood" today! How fab was that!

Nothing better than going back in for a dip (or a 2 widths swim which is what I do) after having been cooked in the sauna :)

Chris is clearly enjoying it!

Even (other) Chris managed to warm up after having swam 10 lengths at 7.7 Celsius

Total elation

Glorious morning at the pool. When I arrived Vince was about to get in the water ... well, not quite yet ... a few days ago he's adopted a new routine : before getting in 7.7 degrees Celsius and swimming six length (!) he takes his shirt to the sauna! He's always in such a rush to get to work on time and doesn't (really) want to leave the sauna ... so, I guess, having his shirt in the sauna allows for another 20 seconds of heat before having to brave the elements, get fully dressed, jump on his Brompton bike and cycle like mad to work :)

Vince positively elated after his six lengths!

Every little helps

The water temperature is down! Now, it's not 8 Celsius and it's not 7 Celsius yet either! it is 46 Fahrenheit which is - to be precise - 7.7 Celsius!
Every little helps!

Most people are still on lengths - amazing really! What a difference having the sauna makes ... psychologically as well as physically!

Bettie at 80 something is still swimming up and down (as opposed to "across"!) ... just in a costume and swimming cap ...

while others have to resort to gloves and socks!

A rare sight

A rare sight: Billy actually swimming amongst the leaves - he usually prefers sitting in the sauna ... for ages! and goes for quick dips ... lots of them :)

Carol is thinking about getting in and then feeling a touch more relaxed about it!

While Marianne has resorted to gloves and socks ... well, the water temperature is just a fraction below 10 Celsius which can be a real turning point for some ... I must say I found swimming four lengths today to be enough ... mind you, Sue and Chris still swam 10 lengths today!
